As the year comes to an end, Insta fans everywhere are keen to repost their favourite memories from 2017.
Never heard of #bestnine? Here’s the backstory.
In 2015 two Japanese dating app founders, Yusuke Matsumara and Mai Sekiguchi, were looking for a way to create some hype surrounding their new business venture. The idea of #bestnine – or 2015bestnine.com, as it was known then – was originally conceived as a marketing campaign for the app.
But #bestnine ended up doing better than the app. In fact, it went viral. 15 million people ended up creating #bestnine collages – including Kourtney Kardashian and Kylie Jenner.

Go to 2017bestnine.com on your smartphone’s web browser.
Type in your Instagram handle into the search bar, where it asks for your “Instagram ID”. Click “Get” and wait a few moments.
It might take a minute or two for the site to generate your best nine images, as the website may be experience a lot of traffic.
Eventually, it will display a photo grid of your nine most-liked images of 2017. Download it onto your phone and upload it to Instagram when you’re ready.
