Christina Grimmie’s Tribute Concert ‘Concert For a Cause’ to take place on June 8.

To mark 5 years since the tragic death of the beloved YouTuber Christina Grimmie, the Christina Grimmie Foundation has announced a tribute concert in honor of the late singer. The Concert For A Cause virtual event will take place on June 8 at 8 p.m. ET.

In 2016, Christina was shot dead by 27-year-old Kevin James Loibl at the Plaza Live in Orlando while at a meet-and-greet with fans and her brother Albert. Her death sparked shock and sorrow across the world – with fellow music artists, YouTubers, and fans paying tribute to the late star.

Marcus Grimmie – Christina Grimmie’s brother – thanked her fans for their constant support:

“We’re honored to see the amount of support we’ve gotten for this event from so many of the people Christina cherished, respected, and loved, and we’re excited to bring this event to Team Grimmie and fans around the world,”

Confirmed live performances at the Concert For a Cause virtual event include the following YouTubers and friends of Christina Grimme: Tori Kelly, Rachel Platten, Kurt Hugo Schneider, Sam Tsui, Tiffany Alvord, Tyler Ward, and Audra McLaughlin.

The concert is free for all and will welcome charity donations that will go towards raising awareness on gun violence and funding the families of gun violence victims.
