Snapchat’s new ‘Creator Marketplace’ will connect brands with AR Lens Creators

Snapchat has announced that it will be launching a ‘Creator Marketplace’ – which will help brands connect with AR Lens creators in order to create immersive and innovative ads.

The Creator Marketplace will officially launch in the next few months and will initially focus on businesses that want to partner with AR creators for creative AR campaigns. Businesses will be able to view a creators’ previous work through Snap’s Lens Network – which will help them decide if they’d like to collaborate. Brands will also be able to select specific parameters – such as  location, language, speciality, budget, and lens category – in order to more easily find the perfect AR creator for their campaign.

Peter Naylor – the VP of Sales at Snapchat – revealed that Snapchat aims to help creators easily connect with brands on its platform and that no proceeds from the deal will go to Snapchat:

“We want the creators to enjoy great success here. The fact that brands and creators are using our platform to reach their audiences and just find a home here—the benefit for us will result in increased time spent and increased engagement. The whole ecosystem will be better for it.”

While it’s currently only focused on helping brands connect with AR creators, Snapchat will begin expanding the Creator Marketplace to all creators in early 2022.
