As the new Samsung S23 Ultra comes onto the market, many creators, influencers, and those who are browsing for their next tech are researching what’s hot and what’s not. Before the launch of the latest Samsung, came the Apple iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max which Apple users became ecstatic over. However, the debate still continues – what’s better? Apple or Samsung?
We may not be able to compare the two companies as a whole, but we can compare the two new launches and make a technical decision on what phone is better for creators.
The Technicalities
When it comes to looking for a new phone, what are the most important things you look for? Well, it’s the camera quality and the battery life. You need a good camera to take high-definition pictures as well as a camera to vlog your day-to-day life if you do not have a separate device to do this.
When we look at the cameras, the Samsung S23 Ultra has a 200 mega-pixel wide camera, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera, dual 12-mega-pixel telephoto camera with 100x space zoom. This means you can crop photos, and still maintain good quality. This compared to the Apple iPhone 14 Pro, falls short with a 48-megapixel main camera, 12-megapixel ultra-wide, and a 12-megapixel telephoto. Both phones share similarities with their front camera of 12 megapixels.
The latest Samsung also has the ability to blur out the background when recording a video, similar to the Cinematic tool on the iPhone. This is great for when recording professional videos to upload on social media.
As creators, we all know how important storage is. The Samsung S23 Ultra starts with a 256GB, which means you can film away and have enough space to create edits after as opposed to the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max which only start at 128GB. You can get a 256, but it will cost you more money. Memory on Samsung comes in 12GB as opposed to iPhone 6GB therefore gaming on the Samsung would be far smoother than the iPhone.
Galaxy S23 Ultra has a bigger AMOLED screen, compared to the iPhone Pro Max which has 6.1 and Pro Max has 6.7.
For you content creators out there, Samsung wins hands down with a 5000mAh battery compared to the iPhone 14 Pro Max which comes in at 4323mAh battery out of the box leaving the iPhone 14 Pro trailing at 3200mAh. This will allow you more time for content creation on your phone as the iPhone 14 Pro Max will die quicker.
Device Style & Feel
When holding the Samsung, although it is bigger, squared off, and looks similar to the Samsung Note, it is lighter compared to the iPhone. The weight of the S23 is 234 grams compared to the iPhone 14 Pro which is 240 grams and therefore marginally lighter but of course, makes that slight difference if you’re carrying it around in your bag!
Another difference between the two phones is that Samsung includes an SPen so you can doodle your ideas and get creative with producing designs on your device. The Samsung S23 Ultra has more colour choices than the iPhone with a beautiful pastel lavender colour, cream, phantom black, and green. The Samsung exclusive comes in lime, sky blue, graphite, and red.
The iPhone however, comes in deep purple, gold, silver, and space black only. Emkwan Reviews, a lifestyle and tech influencer posted a video on his YouTube channel, a review of all the colours of the Samsung S23 Ultra phone.
When it comes to the Apple and Samsung debate, both are leading brands in the market. However, when looking at its latest launches, the Samsung S23 Ultra makes an extra leap to the front with its advanced technical specs and design for creators compared to the iPhone Pro Max.
