Having trouble meeting that special someone?
Facebook might be able to help you out.
At its annual F8 developer conference this past Tuesday, CEO and Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg announced the social network is planning on rolling out a new dating feature in the upcoming months.Â
How will online dating via Facebook work?
Users will create a dating profile via the social network that will be entirely separate from a user’s “normal” Facebook profile and News Feed.
“Facebook will then recommend matches based on dating preferences, interests, and mutual friends,” Mashable reports. “You’ll also be able to discover potential matches in your events and groups.”
This might come as a surprise to some, especially as the Cambridge Analytica Scandal broke a few weeks ago.
Recently, many users have been questioning how safe their data is in the hands of the social network. For some individuals, information pertaining to their romantic life is highly sensitive so it’s understandable to be apprehensive of the new service.
Facebook also announced it is planning on revamping Facebook Messenger and will be rolling out new Whatsapp features.
