With her Irish and Pakistani heritage and growing up in Ireland, her taste had become accustomed to handcrafted burgers, and fast food just didn’t cut it. She then called her friend and potential business partner to discuss the concept she had envisioned.
This coincided with the early stages of the Covid-19 pandemic, causing many businesses to shut their doors. Quick thinking led them to set up a ghost kitchen in Arjan, Barsha, where they could experiment with recipes and techniques. With her background in art, this was the perfect opportunity for Nadia to combine her creative experimentation with entrepreneurship.
Changing the game
In the summer of 2021, Drip Burgers was born, offering gourmet burgers with top-quality, unique ingredients. During this time, Nadia also became pregnant while running her business full-time. “Motherhood was perhaps my greatest personal challenge,” Nadia admitted. Despite the mounting responsibilities, she remained undeterred. “People kept telling me to slow down, but I had a different mindset.”
Her family, initially cautious, gradually gained confidence in her resilience and composure, even as she attended events just days before giving birth. However, in her professional circle, Nadia faced a different reality: “I lacked resources, finances, a network, and professional support.” Yet, resilience in the face of adversity had always been one of Nadia’s defining characteristics – something she attributes to her parents.
Nadia acquired an entrepreneurial spirit from her father, a successful entrepreneur himself, while working closely with him. Her mother, who refused any financial support from her father, instilled in her a sense of unwavering independence. “She always told us we had to earn our own money.”
This lesson became apparent during her formative years when she had to split time between the comfortable accommodation with house help provided by her father and the modest apartment without heating in the neighborhood where her mother lived. “It was during these pivotal experiences that I realized that my father’s success was never my own.”
Success of Drip Burgers in Dubai
In February 2023, a radio show hosted a contest to determine the best burger in the UAE, with Drip Burgers securing the top spot. “It means so much that our customers took the time to vote for us,” she remarked. Today, Nadia is determined to give back to her community by hosting events for other food and beverage businesses and creating a support system for entrepreneurs who, like her, lacked support when starting.
She collaborates with organizations such as WCGA (Women’s Career Goals and Aspirations) to create a network where people can share ideas, connect, and support one another – a network she wished had existed when she started her journey. Furthermore, she is working to build a community and raise awareness of the impact the food industry has on the environment.

From a simple idea to becoming the best burger in Dubai, her journey exemplifies the power of determination and creativity.
