If you don’t wish to share your Wi-Fi password with every guest that comes home, this is a great way to connect to Wi-Fi using a QR code. You can set this up in a few simple steps.

Step 1: Visit QiFi.org in a web browser.

Step 2: Enter your Wi-Fi network’s name in the SSID (Service Set IDentifier) field.

Step 3: For Encryption, make sure WPA/WPA2/WPA3 is selected as most routers use this.

Step 4: In the Key field, type your Wi-Fi password.

Step 5: Finally, click Generate to have a QR code that has your Wi-Fi password and lets people join your Wi-Fi by scanning this QR code.

For iPhone users:

Step 1: Open the Photos app and select Albums.

Step 2: Scroll down and select Duplicates. It’s under Utilities.

Step 3: You can select all of them by hitting Select > Select all > Merge, or select individual photos and tap Merge.

Step 4: Confirm your choice and take back some storage space.

For Android users:

On Android, open the Files by Google app, then select Clean. If you don’t have it, download it for free from the Google Play Store.

Step 1: Tap Confirm and free up > See junk files and select what you want to remove. When you’re ready, tap Clear > Clear.

This is fast an efficient way to get rid of all the duplicate photo’s, screenshots and other junk in your phone.

Unveil mystery callers and texters

We’ve all got that mystery call from god knows who. But there is a way to unmask these mystery callers.

Instead of responding with the question, “Who is this?” there’s a brilliant technique you’ll want to incorporate repeatedly. This ingenious tip, popularized by TikTok user Liz Perez, quickly gained popularity.

Step 1: When you receive a text from an unfamiliar number, you can harness the power of mobile payment apps such as Venmo, CashApp, Zelle, or PayPal to unveil the identity behind the number.

Step 2: Simply copy and paste the unknown number into the app, and, in many cases, you’ll reveal the sender’s name, shedding light on the mystery.

It’s worth noting that this trick is effective if you have an account with one of these payment apps, and the sender has also used their real name and number in the app. While not foolproof, it’s a better alternative to taking a shot in the dark.

Pro tip: Ensure you safeguard your privacy by disabling your mobile payment app from sharing your name and phone number with others. The specific steps for doing this may vary depending on the app. For example, in Venmo, navigate to Settings, Friends and Social, and deactivate the Phone contacts feature.

Find your car no matter where you are

If you have forgotten where you parked your car and spent hours wandering around looking for it, this hack is for you.

Everyday tech hacks you need to know

Step 1 : Open the Google Maps app.

Step 2: Tap the blue dot that shows your location.

Step 3: Tap Save parking.

Avoid sharing your number

Oftentimes we share our numbers with people and its ends up on a marketing list, resulting in endless advertisement calls. There is a way to get rid of this.

The simplest method is to dial *67, a feature that conceals your phone number, be it a landline or cell phone.

Just input the asterisk (*) symbol, followed by 6 and 7, and then the recipient’s number, and that’s all there is to it. The recipient will see “Private” or “Blocked” on their end. The downside is that you must do this for every call.

If you prefer to keep your number hidden consistently, you can adjust this setting on your smartphone.

For iPhone users:

Step 1: Navigate to Settings

Step 2: Then Phone

Step 3: Select the “Show My Caller ID” option, which you can toggle off.

Android users can achieve the same by accessing the “Hide Number” option.

Alternatively, you have the option to request your carrier to hide your number, or you can utilize a temporary number through a burner app like Google Voice or Hushed. Assistance is available for setting up these options.
