Facebook has done a HUGE rebrand

Goodbye Facebook, welcome FACEBOOK

Facebook has done a HUGE rebrand

The Facebook logo is being rebranded to FACEBOOK with multi-coloured capital letters, as the company announced on Monday.

The colours on the new logo are meant to represent FACEBOOK’s parent company that also owns Messenger, Instagram, Whatsapp, Oculus, Workplace, Portal and Calibra.

“The new branding was designed for clarity, and uses custom typography and capitalization to create visual distinction between the company and app,” Chief Marketing Officer Antonio Lucio said in a statement

15 years after FACEBOOK was a single application, the company is now focusing more on being a parent network and making that clear to its users.

Apps that are owned by the company like Instagram and WhatsApp started to feature the words “from FACEBOOK” since June and will now also feature the new logo.

The Facebook social media app will continue to have the same logo and same design but the parent company FACEBOOK will utilize the new logo.

“This brand change is a way to better communicate our ownership structure to the people and businesses who use our services to connect, share, build community and grow their audiences,” Antonio Lucio wrote.

In the next few weeks, FACEBOOK will be using its new brand in all of their products, marketing materials, and creating a new company website.
