You Will Soon Be Able To Edit Video on Canva

Canva is known globally as the go-to tool for customizable graphic designs for business logos to street event posters to #instaworthy posts. Now, with the launch of Canva Video will challenge traditional video editing tools.

According to Business Insider, co-founder of Canva, Cameron Adams recently said “our mission is to empower everyone to design anything without any complex software or having to go to different sources for different elements. We are bringing the same experience to our video editing tool.”

Canva is making video-editing effortless with the launch of Canva Video professional videos for free.

The platform will enable users to include graphical elements like text overlays without contending with the more difficult interfaces of more pro-oriented products.

Canva Video library will include free stock videos, free music tracks and animated stickers, as well as templates and a library of professional animations.

The company also announced Canva Apps, which allows developers and customers to build on top of Canva. Dropbox, Google Drive, PhotoMosh and Instagram are already in the Canva Apps suite.

Canva announced the launch of Canva for Desktop.

Canva makes it easy to create content that is easy and beautiful with little to no design experience and has positioned itself as the non-designer’s design tool.

According to TechCrunch  “Design becomes more important to the way every organization functions and operates, one of the only barriers to the growth of the category is the pace at which new designers can emerge and enter the workforce.”

The company also unveiled Canva for Education

Alongside the announcement Canva has said it will dedicate 1% of equity, profit, time and resources towards making the world a better place, and the beta version is now available to Australian schools for free.

Here’s what she had to say about the pledge: companies have a huge role to play in helping to shape the world we live in and we feel like the 1% Pledge is an incredible program which will help us to use our company’s time, resources, product and equity to do just that. We believe the old adage ‘do no evil’ is no longer enough today and hope to live up to our value to ‘Be a Force for Good,’ according to TechCrunch.
