Underdog Pascal defended his WBA light heavyweight belt in an exciting fight.

Pascal’s controversial win over Badou after a 12-round split decision.

Underdog Pascal defended his WBA light heavyweight belt in an exciting fight.

Pascal retained his crown in Atlanta, where the scores were 114-112, 114-122 for the champion and 114-112 in favour of Jack in Atlanta last night.

The two men went head to head in an intense fight, both hit the canvas, battling till the last bell. In the end, it was Pascal’s night, mildly controversial decision, which is potentially going to be a discussion for 2019 Fight of the Year.

According to Pascal “…I won this fight,” Pascal said. “It was a close fight, but I won it. Badou is a great fighter but no one can say he was robbed. I won that fight. I’m the champ. I think I was in control the whole fight. I kept the middle of the ring most of the time” as stated on ESPN

Jack did not agree with certain judges’ scorecards. “Of course, I feel I won the fight, but it is what it is,” Jack said. “He’s got a hell of a chin, he’s a tough warrior and I want to thank him for the opportunity” as reported on ESPN

The fight began to heat up in the third round when Jack stunned Pascal with a right hand, Jack dominated most of the round but Pascal rebounded to bag his win in the last few minutes.

As reported on badlefthook.com Badou quoted “…I don’t know, I felt I won the fight, But this is my brother, Pascal, he’s got a great chin. Maybe he was the better man tonight. I don’t know. I thought I was winning, but maybe I’m wrong. I would love a rematch.”

Well from the looks of it the sportsmen spirit was also split in two, Badou congratulating his opponent and accepting his loss but also showing disappointment from certain judges’ scorecards!

We would like to congratulate Pascal on his win last night and hoping to see a rematch early next year.
