Jazziyat is a contemporary revival of some of the Arab world’s most cherished songs, infusing timeless melodies with the rich, improvisational textures of jazz. The project is led by UK-based trumpet virtuoso Quentin Collins and features a trio of Dubai’s top jazz musicians. Together, they reinterpret classics by legends such as Umm Kulthum, Abdel Halim Hafez, Mohamed Abdel Wahab, and Asmahan, offering audiences a fresh perspective on these iconic works.
At the heart of this experience is Banah, a Palestinian-Bahraini artist known for her modern take on oriental fusion music. With millions of views and chart-topping singles, Banah has emerged as a rising star in the Arabic music world, celebrated for her soulful voice and innovative artistry.
An Evening of Elegance and Nostalgia
Following its sold-out premiere at London’s Royal Albert Hall (Elgar Room), Jazziyat comes to Dubai for a one-night-only performance. The Zabeel Theatre will be transformed into an elegant jazz lounge, complete with pre- and post-show gatherings in the foyer, ambient music, light snacks, and happy hour prices at the bar. The result is an immersive cultural experience.
