Facebook releases E-Book to celebrate 26 Successful Women across the Middle East, Turkey, and Africa.

In honor of International Women’s Day, Facebook has published an E-Book that features 26 Women across the Middle East, Turkey and Africa who have achieved success as a creator, influencer, and/or CEO in the media industry.

The E-Book’s publication coincided with International Women’s Day on March 8 and is part of #SheCreates – a campaign created by Facebook to empower female creators: it provides in-depth insights on personal experiences, successes, and hardships faced by 26 women during their journeys of becoming powerful figures in their industry.

Karen Wazen – a Lebanese British Fashion Entrepreneur and Digital Influencer based in Dubai – is one of the featured talents. Wazen owns her own namesake eyewear brand and has worked with top brands such as Dior. Her most recent achievement is her key-note speaker session for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees [UNHCR]’s Women’s Day event:

In the E-Book, Wazen shares how her shaky beginnings on social media led her to create her own brand:

“When I embarked on this journey, a lot of people around me were questioning my presence on social media and, to be honest, I personally didn’t know what my purpose was on this platform. Everyday since then has been a learning experience to grow from

Today, social media has become a medium that I use every single day to get inspired and to inspire. It has opened so many doors for me to connect with people from all over the world and to start my own namesake brand, which has reached the home of customers globally. My journey on social media proved to me that you can dream and dreams can actually come true”.

Wazen – who has successfully built her own social media empire and business – serves as a role model to other Middle Eastern females looking to do the same.

Other powerful women featured in the E-Book include: Shahid Al Jumaily – an Emirati Architect, Talk Show Host, and Events Planner, Mona El Kheshen – Founder of Egyptian Professionals Network, and Leila Hadioui – a Moroccan Model, TV Presenter, Stylist, and Actress.
