What you need to know about Instagram's new shopping feature

Seemingly no longer content with being just a hugely popular photo-sharing app, Instagram has made another update to its software, enabling retail brands to upload posts with tags that include product price and information; allowing users to purchase items directly from the site.

Pages like liketoknow.it on Instagram let you browse and purchase a host of good directly from the individual post, making online shopping even more of a simplistic proposition than it was before.

In the market for some new threads? Then load up Insta, have a browse on your favourite brands profiles (providing their utilising the new update) and simply select your favourite post, tap the photo and you should notice a tag with product information and pricing.

And, if you’re still a little wary and are looking for more information, more details about the individual product can be found via a ‘tap to view’ icon that will appear on the bottom left of each post.

The ‘shop now’ button will then link them directly to the brand’s website and the sought-after item in question.

This new feature will shortly be available for a small group of international brands as it is still in its early testing stages, with more to follow…
