Yes, you read that right.
You can now mute your annoying Facebook friends, groups and pages with the “Snooze” button.
Facebook is rolling out this new featur, with the purpose of helping its users in take a break from annoying friends or groups, that are consistently posting on the app.
If a user decides to hit the “Snooze” button on another profile he or she will stop seeing notifications from that friend, group or page for a period of 30 days.
The controls are similar to the current Unfollow and Hide tool that allows a user to permanently remove a user or page’s updates from your timeline entirely without unfriending them.
Users can select the option by going to the top-right drop-down menu of a post from the person, group or page they want to mute and selecting Snooze.
According to Facebook, Snooze gives Facebook users more control over their feed.
Either way, we think it’s a pretty clever idea in keep serial Facebook status updaters at bay, without unfriending or unfollowing them.
