Twitter May Launch A "Secret" Encrypted Messaging Feature

Twitter has been keeping a secret from us.

While Facebook, Google and Whatsapp all offer various forms of encrypted messaging services, everyone’s favourite micro-blogging platform has yet to jump on the bandwagon.

But that might change soon.

Last week, netizen Jane Manchun Wong discovered a hidden features inside Twitter’s Android application package (APK).

“Secret conversation” would be the app’s answer to an encrypted messaging feature – if it’s rolled out, that is.

According to Mashable “Secret Conversation” would be in the conversation info section of the app. The messaging feature would be useful for users that want to share sensative information within Twitter’s messaging feature, without worrying about outside sources intercepting their messages.

Twitter has said that it was “thinking about” rolling out an encrypted messaging feature.

Maybe we can expect to see it sooner than later?
