With the popularity of Instagram’s disappearing stories’ booming by the day, the photo sharing app has just bolstered its offering ten-fold, adding a host of new updates.
Launched globally at 5 pm this evening (Gulf Standard Time), here’s a look at all the new features you’ll find on the Stories function on your Instagram.
Face-filters
One for the unashamed selfie-addicts, Instagram has added eight new emoji filters to its Stories, stretching from kitsch koala ears, ice queen crowns and mathematician specs. Cute…ish.
Simply open the camera, tap the new face icon at the bottom right corner and you’ll see them all.
Hashtagging
You know how on the current (or now old) version of Insta Stories written hashtags were basically redundant and non-responsive? Well, now that’s changed. Any hashtag can be added with simple text or the new Hashtag Sticker – simply tap the hashtag and it will link to all related content.
Eraser Brush
Put simply, erase anything you’ve drawn and play around with removing colour. Looks a lot cooler than it sounds, trust us.
Rewind
Make any video you’ve shot and uploaded play in reverse with the new Rewind tool, an updated camera format. A bit like Boomerang, but better.
All these updates are available as part of Instagram version 10.21 for iOS in the Apple App Store and for Android in Google Play.
