From free products and services to influencer trips abroad, the life of an influencers is filled with complimentary goodies and experiences.
While some may argue it’s all part of the job – after all, beauty vloggers need to review beauty products in order to earn their keep – social media fans with only a few thousand followers may also crave a taste of the influencer life from time to time.
The good news is there’s a sushi restaurant in Italy that will allow its customers “pay” for dishes with their following.
This Is Not a Sushi Bar (@thisisnotasushibar) in Milan allows its patrons to pay for their meals depending on the size of their Instagram audience.
Any guest that has at least 1000 followers on Instagram is entitled to a free dish. And if you have at least 100,000 followers your food will not only be free, you will be treated to a whole meal.
All the restaurant asks in return is for an Instagram post (and to be tagged using their hashtag #ThisisnotaSushiLover.)
This method of marketing has racked up millions of impressions for the restaurant on Instagram (but only has only racked up 5,000 followers.)
Whether you think this genius social media marketing (or can’t help but roll your eyes) This Is Not a Sushi Bar’s influencer marketing strategy seems to be working just fine for them.
