Drake’s ‘Toosie Slide’ reaches 3 Billion Views on TikTok

Thanks to Canadian born rapper Drake, social media users around the globe have been occupied while in quarantine, dancing around to Drake’s newest chart topper ‘Toosie Slide’ and taking to social media to share their videos. 

As of Friday 17th April, #ToosieSlide videos have garnered over 3 billion plays on TikTok making it the fastest growing music trend ever on the app; a record previously held by makeup mogul Kylie Jenner back in 2019 for her hit ‘Rise and Shine.’ 

The song’s simple chorus ‘It go, right foot up, left foot slide, left foot up, right foot slide, basically, I’m saying either way, we ’bout to slide, ayy, can’t let this one slide,’ has provided the short video platform with a quick to learn dance.

The ‘Toosie Slide’ has taken over the social media world and Drake also took to Instagram to share one of his favorite fan-made videos on his feed.
