It has been a week since Britain’s King Charles III was crowned, and we are witnessing exciting portraits released every day of King Charles with the royal family. With the palace releasing tidbits from the big day, there is also a stream of AI-generated pictures from the coronation ceremony that are going viral.
An Australian design agency has employed AI to successfully create a visualization of what the Royal Family may have done once the official events concluded. It’s interesting to see how the AI has captured some moments, which may not be real but people are loving them and sharing them.
We're loving these photos of the The Royals courtesy of Neil Mason. Created with Midjourney, we think they capture the spirit of the #coronation after party just perfectly 👏👏😂 pic.twitter.com/PEFRY5DXsE

About Royal Coronation
The coronation of Charles III and Camilla, as King and Queen of the UK took place on May 6, 2023, after 70 years of Queen Elizabeth II’s Coronation in 1953. The event took place at Westminster Abbey in front of millions of viewers followed by a royal dinner at Buckingham Palace and a start-studded Coronation concert on Sunday.
The massive ceremony was planned for many years before execution, the celebrations concluded on May 8 with a national bank holiday giving the public a final chance to celebrate this historical moment with the royal family.
After the death of Queen Elizabeth II on September 8, 2022, Charles III became the King of the UK and other commonwealth realms. And ever since then Britain geared up, and started planning for the most awaited coronation for the King.
AI-generated pictures going viral
We all know how well the royal coronation went and can see the pictures portraying a perfect event but in an artificial intelligence (AI) era and how can AI not reimagine and make us wonder?
AI has imagined a few different scenarios on how the day may pan out and it’s interesting how netizens couldn’t differentiate which ones are genuine and which ones are with an AI-touch.
Some of the viral AI-generated afterparty pictures most shared and liked by people were King Charles III on the beach and in colorful clothes, Queen Camilla dancing, one with King Charles III and Meghan dancing, and so on. People liked the AI images because of the comic factor they have and were happy to have a glimpse of peace in the Royal Family.

Rise of AI-generated Images and Art
There is an ongoing debate “The Great AI Debate” on whether it’s a threat or a transformational tool to survive in today’s competitive world. Whether an AI-generated image and art will replace human art or not. With millions using AI to transform their businesses and become productive, millions are arguing about the pros as well.
In the case of AI-generated royal coronation pictures, we will say the results were surprisingly good. Multiple artists have used the tool Midjourney to see what AI makes of this monumental occasion.
Whilst some images are clearly AI-generated and have a few errors, they emphasize the increasing power of AI. Hinting at how important it is to leverage these tools to reimagine and predict future events.
