Sony PlayStation & ITP Gaming have teamed up to light the skies with more than 400 drones in a dazzling display to mark the MENA launch of Horizon Forbidden West.
The eight-minute nighttime display sees the Horizon Forbidden West Logo take shape in real-time in both English and Arabic in the skies above the desert before the drones dissolve to form the iconic PlayStation logo.
The stunt was accompanied by the illumination of the iconic Elephant Rock site in Saudi Arabia’s Al-Ula region, which sees a ‘Tremortusk’ – one of the machines from in-game – projected onto the ancient 52-meter high stone.
Horizon Forbidden West is the much-anticipated sequel to the 2017 PlayStation hit Horizon Zero Dawn, developed by Guerilla Games and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment.
The game centers around Aloy, the female protagonist, who must navigate her way through a post-apocalyptic world reclaimed by nature and inhabited by deadly machines.
Aloy must uncover the secrets behind these threats and restore order and balance to the world by reuniting with old friends, forging alliances with warring factions, and unraveling the legacy of the ancient past.
