Look inside Diipa Khosla’s home
Law student turned content creator and entrepreneur Diipa Khosla has revealed the inside of her Amsterdam house. Diipa lives in Amsterdam with her husband of 5 years and business partner, Dutch former diplomat, Oleg Büller-Khosla.
The home was originally constructed as a boys’ orphanage in 1614, and had not been renovated in over thirty years. The couple stated that the house had “this calming energy and a gorgeous fireplace”, and instantly just knew it was the house for them.
Since the house had not been renovated in over thirty years, the home needed permits to be eligible for any overhauls. This meant the renovation process would take years, and that it did. According to Diipa Khosla, it took 2 years to renovate and design to the couple’s liking.
The couple decided to keep many of the original designs of the house, such as the old-world fireplace, the French doors, and the mouldings. But at the same time, they wanted to bring in some Indian touches, which was done with the help of creative director Mirko Musmeci. They were able to add a Ganesha idol for the niche above the stairs, a door with ornate carvings, and handwoven carpets everywhere.
In the span of those two years, the couple also welcomed their first child together, a daughter named Dua. The child’s room is covered in floral wallpaper custom-designed by Work & Sea, and mirrors the occupant’s sweet and spirited nature.
The home, which overlooks the canal, acts as a sanctuary for the couple all year round. When they’re not working, the couple enjoys cycling to meet up with friends for lunch or taking their two-year-old daughter, Dua, for a boat ride to the park.
