A Louis Vuitton handbag no “smaller than a grain of salt and narrow enough to pass through the eye of a needle” sold in New York on Wednesday for a staggering $63,000 at auction.
Created by MSCHF, a New York-based art collective known for its quirky and unconventional creations, the bag had the signature monogram and measured just 657 by 222 by 700 micrometers.
Dubbed the “microscopic handbag” by its maker, the bag was sold in a Joopiter auction for exactly $63,750 with an initial bid of $15,000. Not only did the winner purchase a tiny bag, but the bag also comes with a digital display so the buyer can enjoy or at least see, the bag’s design without having to put a telescope to it.
According to MSCHF, the tote bag was created using two-photon polymerisation printing methods and made with photopolymer resin coated in a gel case. The process is commonly used in the biotech industry.
The question you’re probably asking yourself is, how did they wrap it up and give it to the buyer?👀😆
