India has solidified its position as Snapchat’s top market. The social media platform recently revealed that it now serves over 200 million users in India every month.
This means almost 27% of Snap’s global user base is in India. With 93 million daily active users in Europe and 100 million in North America, the majority of Snapchat’s users are in India.
Additionally, although daily and monthly usage statistics are not directly comparable, extrapolation of the available data would indicate that Snapchat has approximately:
– 190 million monthly active users in North America
– 180 monthly active users in the EU
– 380 million people in other countries
Of course, India makes up the largest portion, and it’s been intriguing to see Snapchat grow there, especially when India decided to outlaw TikTok in 2020.
According to Statista, as of Q1 of 2023, the total number of daily active users (DAU) on the photo and video sharing app has increased to 383 million from 375 million in Q4 of 2022.
Snapchat’s relative market dominance is encouraging for its future possibilities as the Indian digital economy continues to grow and open up all new kinds of opportunities. India continues to be a significant growth market for all social applications.
