“I am too pretty to work,” says entitled TikToker brewing lazy influencer culture

There’s a lazy influencer culture on the rise who feel entitled to sit back and enjoy free rides. Read all the latest news as we provide you with a reality check of brewing uncultivated mindsets.

lazy influencer culture

Lazy influencer culture is on the rise and we fear for the public figures that are reflecting the working mindset of future generations.

What is more annoying than an influencer thinking they are the prettiest in the world? A wanna-be lazy influencer who thinks their looks would justify them from not working in their life. Lucy Welcher, a micro-influencer on TikTok with more than 80 000 followers posted a video to the short form platform that she has decided working is not for her.

In the video, Lucy stated that she has no desire to wake up early every day for the next 60 years and claims that she is too pretty to do so.

“I do not want to work for the rest of my life. Does it look like I wanna get up at 6am every f*cking day for the next 60 years? No! I am too pretty for that.”

While casually sipping on her $12 iced latte in her car, Lucy uses crude language with a self-entitled tone of voice to state that according to her work is a scam and that it’s not for her. Well, we hate to break it to you Lucy, but you are deserving of a reality check.

The unfortunate rise of lazy influencer culture

Unfortunately, the blatant statement made by Lucy is not the only case of influencers who think they are deserving of a good life and an easy paycheck based on natural gifts given to them. Sadly the truth is that there’s a rising trend in influencers who are contributing to an unsustainable form of working ethics as they brew lazy influencer culture in a society that nowadays just wants to do the bare minimum and get paid to make content.

Social media is a wonderful place to showcase your talents, artistry, work, and passion for a subject matter. If hard work and dedication are put behind curating a page worthy for people to follow it can result in a mass following of fans who will put you on a pedestal and in the best scenarios pay you to do what you love.

Influencing is a repercussion of an alleyway that you are good in, passionate and work hard at which is what attracts brands, small businesses, and publications that make your influence worthy to invest in.

Influencers need to prioritize the added value they bring into the lives of their followers as well as understand what it is that makes them different. Authenticity, clear vision, and purpose are what make you a sustainable influencer. And even in most cases, being a sustainable influencer takes a lot of work to stay relevant.

In contrast to the brewing lazy influencer culture that feels entitled to not work is a culture of influencer burnout, where content creators are suffering from work exhaustion to remain relevant to followers in order to secure a stable income to earn a living.

We do not blame Lucy for speaking her mind during a moment that every person in this world has felt or thought to themselves, but it is important to not underestimate the difficult task it is to be a relevant figure in society as well as once placed on a pedestal, you educate and showcase good values of hard work ethics for followers to make it worth it to financially endorse your content as a public figure.
