With the end of the summer holidays, and everyone back to work as usual, we’re sure you’re looking forward to the next long weekend.
We’ve got you covered if you’re looking to figure out when the next UAE public holiday is. We’re also going to recommend places to visit if you don’t know how to spend your free time.
UAE public holidays 2023: When are they?
The first holiday of the year was in celebration of the New Year, on the 1st of January. This meant people working on Sunday got a nice day off.
The next public holidays were in celebration of Eid Al Fitr, from April 20th to April 23rd. Two public holidays were given, which stretched into a four-day weekend.
Another four-day holiday in the UAE was for the day of Arafah and Eid Al Adha or Feast of Sacrifice. Some of the most important holidays in the Islamic calendar were celebrated on June 27, 28, 29, and 30.
The most recent holiday celebrated was the Hijri New Year, or, Islamic New Year. This was commemorated on Friday, July 21st.
Since then, we’ve all been waiting for the next holiday announcement. The Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) birthday follows the Islamic New Year, on Wednesday, September 27, with a public holiday expected during the same week. Continuing with the long weekend traditions, it’s expected to be on Friday, September 29.
After September, we’re expected to see UAE public holidays for Commemoration Day and National Day in the first week of December.
