Turn your Business Profile into an Ecommerce store via Facebook & instagram's 'Shops'

Facebook has announced ‘Shops’ a direct to consumer platform which the company plans to roll out both on Facebook and Instagram.

The objective is to help small businesses sell their products online directly from the brand’s social media page.

As explained by Facebook,

“Facebook Shops make it easy for businesses to set up a single online store for customers to access on both Facebook and Instagram. Creating a Facebook Shop is free and simple. Businesses can choose the products they want to feature from their catalog and then customize the look and feel of their shop with a cover image and accent colors that showcase their brand. This means any seller, no matter their size or budget, can bring their business online and connect with customers wherever and whenever it’s convenient for them.”

How does it work?

According to Facebook,

“Creating a Facebook Shop is free and simple. Businesses can choose the products they want to feature from their catalog and then customize the look and feel of their shop with a cover image and accent colors that showcase their brand. This means any seller, no matter their size or budget, can bring their business online and connect with customers wherever and whenever it’s convenient for them.

People can find Facebook Shops on a business’ Facebook Page or Instagram profile, or discover them through stories or ads.”

As the COVID-19 pandemic has forced many businesses to close their physical store-fronts, e-commerce will consequently experience a massive rise.

Facebook aims to make their platforms easier for consumers to navigate and make purchases.
