TikToker goes viral after comparing Kim Kardashian and Kylie Jenner’s swimwear lines

Let’s just say she wasn’t pleased with the latter.

Whether it’s through cosmetics or attire, both Kim Kardashian and Kylie Jenner have successfully built multibillion dollar empires by selling out every new product they drop on the market; however, things haven’t been smooth sailing for Kylie since she announced the launch of her swimwear line, Kylie Swim, last September.

Since then, her brand has faced heaps of criticism since then, with customers and TikTokers calling her products anything from cheap to horrendous and exposing the quality of the swimwear they received.

It doesn’t come as a surprise then that people were doubtful when her older sister, Kim Kardashian, revealed in March that she’s working on her own swimwear line, which will be a part of her clothing company Skims. Nevertheless, the reality star promised her fans that she plans to cater to all shapes and sizes by designing a range of pieces that include smaller bikinis as well as full-coverage pieces.

It wasn’t long before TikTok user @hopescope reopened the conversation and answered the questions on everyone’s mind by filming and posting a side-by-side comparison of two pieces from the respective brands. The now-viral video, which was posted on the 1st of April, has collected more than 5.2M views so far and has played its part when it comes to customers restoring their faith in Kim’s products.

In her detailed video, Hope puts the two pieces side by side and highlights the superior quality of the Skims swimwear, which not only offers better coverage but also a better size range and detailing when it comes to stitching and strap, leaving Kim with tons of praise comments from her fans and customer who believe her products are inclusive.

In today’s age, it can’t be argued that TikTok can make or break a brand and with millions of people seeing such a video on social media, it cannot but damage the brand’s reputation and image. To add to that, the possibility of leaving reviews under products and sharing honest opinions about them on a huge platform like TikTok contributes to the fact that brands can no longer fool people into blindly buying low-quality products only because a certain celebrity has created it.

Last but not least, where does Kylie stand amidst all of this backlash? On the one hand, the makeup mogul has not commented on the matter but on the other, she also hasn’t announced a restock or a new collection since the launch of the line, which if you ask us, says a lot about whether or not she is aware of all the feedback it received.
