In an effort to keep up with other popular social media networks, TikTok is introducing the TikTok LIVE subscriptions program later this week, paving new ways for creators to expand their online communities and make extra income on the platform.
In a short but informative video, TikTok shared an overview of what this new program entails; basically, this initiative will give live-streamers the opportunity to generate frequent revenue through sharing exclusive streams with an audience who is willing to pay to watch them.

In addition, the motive behind the TikTok LIVE subscriptions program is further explained by the app’s team, who believes that these efforts will greatly benefit creators who will now be able to benefit from their engaged communities and their desire to show their appreciation for their favorite creators.
Now just in case you’re wondering what’s in it for the followers, TikTok lists all the perks that subscribers will benefit from with the TikTok LIVE subscriptions program:
Subscriber Badges: Subscribers receive badges that are displayed next to their name on their profile and upgraded over time.
Custom Emotes: Subscribers get access to exclusive emotes custom-designed by the creators to use during LIVE sessions to bring the community together and make your sessions more spirited.
Subscriber-Only Chat: When the subscriber-only chat is turned on, creators and their subscribers have exclusive access to one another, enhancing an even more personal connection between creator and viewer.
After seeing the success that purchasable live additions have been met with on other social sites, TikTok is adopting them to boost the connection between creators and their audience by highlighting interactions and comments during the stream.
The TikTok LIVE subscriptions program also comes at a time when platforms such as Youtube is enhancing its Super Thanks monetization and Twitch is slowly becoming a leading livestreaming service around the world.
However, not everyone will have access to these features, or at least not for the time being.
To access the LIVE Subscription feature, creators must be 18 years of age and have a minimum of 1,000 followers. Users must be over 18 to purchase a subscription and to send or receive Coins and Gifts. All users must follow our Community Guidelines and not solicit gifts or offer incentives for gifting.
The current invite-only TikTok LIVE subscriptions program is set to become available globally over the coming months so TikTok stars should definitely get ready to increase their earnings.
