This week, we had the pleasure of being invited to step into the futuristic ‘metaverse‘ of ToDA.
Located in Madinat Jumeirah’s Theatre of Digital Art, we put on our headsets and traveled to alternate universes.
As we first walked in, we were welcomed by the resident Avatar, Synti, who is portrayed through a hologram type feature and even speaks to you!
Synti is created with highly advanced Artificial Intelligence and interacts with visitors upon their arrival at the exhibition.
See her Instagram page @synti_hihuman for more.
After we said our goodbye’s to Synti, we were guided to a darkely-lit theatre, where large screens wrapped around the whole room.
On comfy bean-bags in the seated auditorium, we took our place for the next 20 minutes or so, as we became visitors of a multi-sensory journey into other dimensions.
An intriguing montage of some of the Artist’s work such as Jonathan Monaghan’s “Out of the Abyss”, “Eyra” by Synticate, Luna Ikuta’s “Afterlife”, and Arnaud Laffond’s futuristic world “Refuge/Refuse” all portray symbolistic denotations of conspiracies, AR and the future.
It is a great way to get you thinking and come up with different ideologies, as to how you perceive the Artist’s work.
As the visual show came to a close, we were guided to an Augemented Reality room within ToDA.
Here, VR headsets and hand controllers were given, that enabled us to immerse into a abstract dimensional world.
This ‘Artificial-life world’ was created by Artist Kevin Mack, who is a pioneer in the realm of graphics, digital art & visual effects.
The Digital Extravaganza Exhibition detailed:
“Mack’s virtual worlds are designed to inspire awe, engage the imagination, and enhance well being. His worlds have been exhibited at art and technology events globally and studied and used in therapeutic and medical applications.
Mack is inspired by transcendent visions, nature, and technologies.
His work is informed by research in a wide range of fields from neuroscience to artificial life. Mack’s latest virtual reality project “Anandala” was part of the Official Selection of the 78th Venice International Film Festival”.
As our amazing experience was coming to an end, we had one final pit-stop.
We got to step into ToDA’s Metaverse, where their NFT Gallery is available.
Just yesterday, ToDA announced via Instagram that they are now on @withfoundation. Therefore, all Crypto wallet holders can now purchase from their NFT collection through the link on @todadubai bio.
This exhibition is really fascinating and definetely worth a visit, it is taking place right until August 31st from 11am-11pm everyday at Souq Madinat Jumeirah.
In addition to this current exhibition, various other events take place in their digital theatre, such as Immersive Meditation, yoga, and more!
