The social media platform Facebook, is testing the option for creating multiple profiles from one account to enhance user experience.
The social media giant will allow you to add 5 profiles to your account “to help people tailor their experience based on interest and relationships” says Facebook’s spokesperson Leonard Lam. He continued “Anyone who uses Facebook must continue to follow our rules.”
While your main profile still uses the same name, your new profile accounts can be completely different. If you receive a violation on an account, it will affect all of your accounts so do not be misleading with your new profiles.
If you have a page, this can also be updated and added onto your profile as a profile of its own. Although it is a page, it will function similarly to a profile so you get more out of it when using it. The profile will allow you to explore deeper into topics, share your different interests and connect with others with those particular interests, in a particular niche.
You will automatically be asked on your page if you would like to add it as a profile otherwise you will be able to add up to account very soon in your settings.
At the moment, only a few users are able to switch between different profiles as a test to see if the product works well. Do you have an extra profile added to your Facebook account? Let us know by tweeting us @itpliveme.
