If you are looking at more fun and unique ways to use Instagram Reels, then you have stopped at the right place. Instagram has just added new features to help you get the most out of your Reel content if you’re an influencer looking to explore more creativity.

Enhanced Remix Feature

You may have noticed the Remix feature on Instagram already, now, Instagram is enhancing the way you tell stories on Instagram when you collaborate with another influencer, or a creator, or your friends.

  1. Remix for photos: In a few weeks, you will be able to remix your public photos to give you more creativity when creating your own Reels. As photos are the main distinguishing feature on Instagram, this is a great way to develop and enhance the use of photo uploads.
  2. Expanded Remix layouts: When replying back to a video, you can now add your own commentary on existing Reels, and add a green-screen effect on your response. The new layouts give you the option of uploading a horizontal or vertical split-screen in a picture-in-picture view.
  3. Add your clip: If you would like your remix to come after an original Reel rather than at the same time, you can add your clip after to it plays sequentially.

Templates and Dual

Instagram has added an advanced way to capture, edit and share posts right from your phone. This will allow you to be more creative with your content and give you more options before uploading.

  1. Templates: There is a new camera option on the Reels tab that will allow you to look at more display and layout options when creating Reels. The templates give you an option to easily add preloading audio and add clip placeholders to simply add the photo or video that you want to.
  2. Dual: Some phones already have this option including Samsung devices. Having a dual view allows you to record using your phone’s back camera, as well as capture your expression using the front camera view.

Video posts will now be shared as Reels

Since Reels has changed the algorithm of Instagram and has now become a popular way to create content, Instagram has altered its video feature. New video posts that are shorter than 15 minutes will now be shared as Reels. However, if you have posted a video before this change, they will remain as videos. If they didn’t work well as a video, you may want to think about re-adding it as a Reel.

  1. Discovery: If your profile is private, your Reels will only be shown to your followers, however, Reels on a public account and are 90 seconds long, may be eligible to be recommended and seen by more people now with the video to Reels change.
  2. Profile: To make your profile look cleaner and easy to use, your video and Reels will now be under one section on your profile.
