With the lead-up to the Global Titans Fight Night happening in Dubai at Coca-Cola Arena, all eyes are on Tommy Fury before his fight with Paul Bamba. However, although everyone is gearing up to fight in one of the most beautiful cities in the world, many people around the world are wondering when his fight with Jake Paul will be.
Fury VS Paul
After the Fury vs Paul fight announcement was made, the lead-up to the fight was intense online and offline. Training had begun, however, there were constant complications happening according to Jake Paul’s Twitter updates. As an entertainer and YouTuber, Jake Paul even created a video of him laying in what looks like a hospital bed set-up, pretending to be wounded saying he has been “carrying the promotion” for the event. It is evident that he knows how to keep his followers engaged using content creation – his first passion – as a way of speaking to his audience.
Unfortunately, fans were disappointed once the news of the fight was canceled. Jake Paul had taken to his social media pages putting the blame on Tommy Fury for the fight cancelation which forced Tommy to upload on his social media. He told his (and Paul’s) followers that the reason the fight did not happen was due to Fury not being able to enter America.
Tommy Fury on KSI & Jake Paul
In a recent video interview, Tommy’s fight on the 13th of November in Dubai was mentioned, however, he was again, questioned about his fight with Jake Paul. He first spoke about the recent fight between Anderson Silva and Paul, stating that “age matters when it comes to boxing” and therefore that being the reason why Jake Paul had won. Yet, throughout the video interview, he did say that Jake Paul does have a “very long way to go in boxing.”
“I will beat Jake Paul – I will flog them all [KSI and Jake Paul] on the same night,” said Fury laughing. “I’m preparing in my career day in and day out to fight world champions and you’re asking me to go fight Jake Paul? Not a problem.” The question that was on everyone’s mind and that was asked during the interview was can we expect a fight in the US or UK to which he responded I’m definitely open to it” and that he will “definitely take care of business whether in the US or in the UK.”
Jake or KSI?
The mention of Jake Paul and KSI being YouTubers and social media content creators came up in the conversation. “When you see me get in the ring with KSI or Jake Paul, you will see the definition of an easy fight – these guys can’t fight. If they want to be regarded as a boxer, they have to go through me” said Tommy. He continued with “He’s going down and he’s staying down because he’s not a fighter. Some guy who has just come along off YouTube wanting to throw his hands in it, for him to succeed, it will take a special individual.”
He also quoted Floyd Mayweather saying “Floyd Mayweather said it the best – the minute he gets in there, everyone will see the true colours of Jake Paul.”
Fury VS Bamba
Only time will tell whether the Tommy Fury and Jake Paul fight will happen, till then, Tommy Fury will be allowed entry into Dubai, ready for his 9th fight with Paul Bamba. So far, Fury has had 8 wins and therefore this fight will be a strong lead-up to his fight with Paul in 2023 if it’s confirmed.
