Badou Jack "The Ripper" returns to the ring to fight for charity

Badou Jack “The Ripper” former 2-Division World Champion will return into action on the Mike Tyson vs. Roy Jones Pay Per View event at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, CA. Jack(22-3-3), who has already fought eight world champions in a row,  will now face his unbeaten opponent Blake “The Beast” McKernan (13-0).

The event is set for 28 November 2020, as Jack expressed how this particular fight is not about “titles or championships.” Further adding, “I’m dedicating this fight to all of the children in need around the world and am donating all of the proceeds to my organization, the Badou Jack Foundation.” The Badou Jack Foundation, established in 2018, is a Non-Profit organization that has worked towards aiding refugees and orphans affected in Syria, Palestine, and Gambia which is Jack’s native country.

The foundation works towards establishing educational centers, orphanages, and rehabilitation facilities. The new mission set for 2021 by the foundation is to increase awareness and aid abused children affected by the foster care system. Jack shared, “I have a responsibility to help as many people as I can. More than boxing, I want to be known as someone that helped others in need.”

Amer Abdallah, Jack’s business manager, said, “As ferocious as he is in the ring, Badou is equally as caring outside of it. He’s an amazing ambassador to boxing and to Muslims across the globe. Immediately after each fight, he visits the Refugee Camps and genuinely loves spending time with the children there.”

The foundation has previously visited the second largest Syrian Refugee Camp, the Zaatari Refugee camp located on the Syrian/Jordanian border and have also visited the Baqaa Refugee Camp in Jordan that aids Syrian and Palestinian refugees. They even teamed up for the SPOT project in Gambia to build orphanages and to help with access to freshwater wells and educational facilities.
