Leading a mission to expand monetization opportunities for creators, Facebook recently added new rules concerning ownership of content and advertising revenue. The Rights Manager feature enables creators to set up new rules to detect duplicated content and to claim revenue for advertising from that content.Â
Facebook explained:
“We’ve improved our Collect Ad Earnings tool and are expanding availability, which means that more creators will be able to collect ad earnings from matching videos that include in-stream ads. We’ve added a new filter view for spotting monetizable matches, better guidance for how to capture monetization opportunities, exportable revenue reports, and the ability to collect ad earnings while placing an ownership link on the matched video.”
Facebook is also extending access to Rights manager to provide more creators access to how and where their content is shared across Instagram and Facebook. They have highlighted that “creators of all sizes are now eligible” to guarantee that their content is protected.
The platform also further shared, “We’ve expanded In-stream ads to Egypt, Iraq, Morocco and Turkey, adding to the 45 countries where the in-stream program is already available. Eligible pages in these countries can join the program and start monetizing their eligible videos.”
These opportunities are highly helpful for new and existing creators to protect their content despite copyright striking previously creating issues for several Youtubers. Facebook introducing these features is important for many creators, as content used is rapidly shared across networks without the content owners being aware.
