MrBeast’s ‘Finger on the App’ Contest – a competition that challenges fans to keep their finger on his new app as long as possible – has come to an end after a gruelling 2 days and 3 hours from its commencement.
The contest was initially announced via MrBeast’s Twitter account, with $100,000 revealed as the coveted prize. Within hours of its announcement, the ‘Finger on the App’ app charted at the top of the Free Games Category in the Apple App Store:
Whoever is last to take their finger off my new app wins $100,000! The challenge starts in 6 days and literally all you have to do is hold your finger on the app lol

The contest kickstarted on March 20th with over 1.2 million players competing to win $100,000. The big cash prize prompted some users to try to cheat in order to win, with some attempting to use bots instead of their fingers. MrBeast removed these users from the competition but accidently removed a few fair game players in the process- much to their dismay:
We are 2 minutes in and so far a few hundred thousand people lost lol

After a few days – the initial 1.2 million players decreased down to nine. In an attempt to shake up the contest, MrBeast offered $10,000 to players to tap out of the game, with 4 players tiredly accepting:
To the 9 people that still have their finger on the app, if any of you take your finger off in the next 10 minutes I’ll give you $10,000! pic.twitter.com/BqUBC45vTn

The 51-hour long contest was eventually won by Marshy (@Swagbacon123) and the runner-up was awarded $20,000:
After 2 days and 3 hours @Swagbacon123 was the last person with his finger on the app and won $100,000!!!! CONGRATULATIONS!
I also felt bad for second place person so I’m giving them $20,000 as well
