Social media’s heavy hitters creating a buzz for this weekend’s music festival

Region's Biggest Influencers Turning Out For Dubai Jazz Fest

John Legend, Ricky Martin, Duran Duran have all bowled into the UAE this weekend in honour of the 16th edition of the Emirates Airline Dubai Jazz Festival on February 23 at the Dubai Media City Amphitheatre.

The fanfare has been jumped on by some of the region’s biggest social media stars, with local influencers all waxing lyrical about the upcoming festival including Naomi D’Souza, John Marques, Mrs Keepa and Lipstick Mommy.

Ahead of UK ’80s pop rock legends Duran Duran on Wednesday 21 there’s going to be a massive, 12-piece urban jazz act hitting the stage, and they are big.

Renegade Brass Band are a UK-based act with grimy R&B rap, samples and beats busted out via a full brass band – it’s a brilliant fusion, and their unique sound has taken them to Glastonbury as well as support slots for Jamie Cullum, Busta Rhymes, De La Soul, Public Enemy, Grandmaster Flash and more.

Supporting John Legend on Thursday 22, US singer China Moses will be bringing her smooth, New Orleans-inspired soul and jazz (with an English blues slant).

Finally, supporting Latin pop star and Grammy award-winner Ricky Martin is Poncho Sanchez, a positive veteran of the Latin scene. Sanchez’s sounds are jazzy and infectious, with three decades of performing making him one of the most influential artists of the iconic sound from the region.
