It’s been in testing for a while, but today, Instagram has officially announced that users can now reply to post comments with Reels, providing another way to integrate Reels into the Instagram process.
Instagram announces over Twitter, “We love the communities that creators have built on Instagram. That’s why we’re excited to launch Reels Visual Replies, a new feature to interact with your audience. You can now reply to comments with Reels and the comment will pop up as a sticker.”

This is a means to make Instagram a more interactive space. With the launch of Reels and IGTV, Instagram is already becoming the second version of TikTok. And if you’ve noticed, when you first open this social media app, videos always top your feed. We suspect this is a strategy used by them to make you stay on the app for longer – and eventually gets you scrolling more deeper into your feed.
What does the launch of this feature mean for Influencers?
For Influencers, well-esteemed brands, small businesses, educators, and any story-telling platform this is great! This not only means they get a better tool to use for story-telling but this also means more organic sales.
The main advantage Influencers have above any traditional method of marketing – including modeling, banner ads, portfolio shoots, endorsements ads, and selling techniques, is that Instagram acts as a tool for them to be their most authentic self. (Although how you use it is upon you) But through this social media platform you get to have a voice – and talk about what you want to.
Thus, self-expression is a very important for Instagram. This is precisely why the social media platform launched the campaign – #YoursToMake to align with this thought process.
This feature promoting self-expressionism also seems co-related to Pantone’s Colour Of The Year 2022 – shade ‘Very Peri’. “A new Pantone color whose dynamic novel presence encourages personal inventiveness and creativity, PANTONE 17-3938 Very Peri, the happiest and warmest of all the blue hues, introduces an empowering mix of newness.” stated Pantone on their Instagram handle.
