Had a fall out with someone and suspect they’ve blocked you on Snapchat? Here’s some simple ways to find out if you’ve been added on the blocked list.
Go to recent chat
As with most social media platforms, you won’t be notified when someone blocks you (thank goodness), which makes things less awkward.
However, one way to check if you have indeed been removed or blocked from someone’s friends list on the app, you can go to your ‘Chats’ page and try to search for your conversation with that user.
To confirm, open Snapchat.
After which, at the bottom of the screen, to the left of the capture tab, tap the speech bubble icon to enter your chats.
If their name does not appear in your chat history, it’s a sign that they’ve blocked you.
Try to send a message
The other trick, if you have a strong feeling you’ve been hit by the block button, is to attempt to send a message.
Now, we would only recommend this if you are almost certain you’ve been blocked (to avoid any embarassment).
Send a Snap message or picture as you typically would and wait…
If after some time and a few checks of your internet connection, it still says ‘Pending’ or the icon turns grey, we hate to break it to you but you have indeed been removed or blocked!
Searching for their username
Now, taking things up a knotch.
If you remember their username, congratulations, because you can use this information to determine whether you are still on their friends list on Snapchat.
You’ll see your own profile at the top left of the interface, which may include your story if you’ve added one in the last 24 hours. There’s a magnifying glass icon right next to this. Select this and look for the contact you believe has blocked you.
If they do not appear, it is because they have either blocked you or deleted their account.
Deleted their accout?? Yes and we have a trick to be able to confirm this.
Pro investigator tip: Simply, get a friend or using another Snapchat account to search up their username using the same method above.
If they don’t show up, it’s because they’ve deleted their Snapchat account. If they do appear, the news isn’t good –Â they’ve blocked you on that account.Â
Difference Between Blocked and Removed on Snapchat?
Being blocked automatically stops all connections, whereas being removed does not.
You won’t be able to see stories unless they are set to Everyone if you have only been removed from Snapchat.
If you are blocked, unfortunately, regardless of the settings, nothing will show up.
