iOS 16 has added a feature that we have all been waiting for!
Finally allowing you to edit and unsend iMessages sent to someone, but there is a timeframe in which this needs to be actioned upon.
Doing either of these options an iMessage demands both users involved in the conversation to be using iOS 16.
The biggest thing to note, there is a strict 15-minute time constraint from the time that your message is sent out to be able to do either of the 2 actions.
How to unsend the message
- Open the messages application
- Click on the specific conversation
- Hold down on the exact message
- Click ‘Undo Send’
Another thing to bare in mind is that if the person you sent an iMessage to isn’t updated to iOS 16, Apple will notify you that they “may still be able to see your message.”
Moreover, if the person who got sent the original message (that is now deleted) is using iOS 16, they will indeed receive a notification in the thread that a message was unsent.
Additional iMessage improvements that iPhone users can anticipate in the update include improved diction tools for composing messages using your voice and the capacity to mark messages as “unread” so you can return to them later.
