Last night, the city of Beirut witnessed the long-awaited 11th edition of the Beirut International Awards Festivals – BIAF, an edition that was dedicated to highlight Lebanese achievers and success stories from various fields live from the historical Roman Baths ruins in Downtown Beirut, and under the slogan “انا لبناني” or “I am Lebanese”.
This year’s festival took place over two consecutive days, 20th & 21st of July 2024 at the Roman Baths ruins in Downtown Beirut, one of the most historically-significant landmarks in Lebanon since the Roman age.
The first day witnessed the launch of this year’s edition with the opening ceremony and panel discussion which featured all of the BIAF 2024 honourees who came together to discuss their stories and achievements, moderated by the TV host Rabia Zayyat.
On the second day, the red carpet and awards ceremony were broadcasted live on 8 local & regional TV channels from 6PM onwards, hosted by TV presenter and journalist Petra Narch and fashion personality Ghina Ghandour, and had a one-of-its-kind partnership for the first time in Lebanon with the leading social media platform X.
The awards ceremony began at 8:30 PM, with a sensational performance of the Lebanese National Anthem performed by Lebanese artist Abeer Nehme, followed by an opening speech delivered by the founder and president of BIAF, DIAFA & The EMIGALA Dr. Michel Daher, during which he launched this year’s awards ceremony, celebrating the achievements of every Lebanese personality, each in their field. Dr. Daher also stressed on the importance of BIAF as a local, regional, and global platform to recognize and support Lebanese talents from all over the country and provide them with a support system to nurture their passion.
The awards ceremony was hosted by Editor-in-chief and TV Personality Joumana Bou Eid, who was dressed in a full look by Krikor Jabotian, and awarded several Lebanese personalities and entities such as Nour Arida, Assi El Hallani, Nayla Tueini, Georges Khabbaz, Ramy Ayash, Sohat, Karen Wazen, Nemr Abou Nassar, Abeer Nehme, Joseph Attieh, Rita Harb, Nadine Jaber, Nadine Nassib Njeim, Gabriel Yammine, Nicolas Mouawad, Salim Assaf, Hadii Sharara, Said El Marouk, and others.
In addition, Lebanese artist Al Walid El Hallani delivered a stunning performance of Wadih El Safi’s “Lebnan Ya Ot’it Sama” from inside the Roman ruins, while Ramy Ayash premiered his new song “Ahlan Bil Jamal” featuring Mazen Ghannam. Abeer Nehme presented a sensational performance of her hit single “Bala Ma Nhess” after receiving her award on stage.
BIAF 2024, organized by SHINE ENTERTAINMENT, also collaborated with many industry giants, such as Sohat, Johnny Walker, Don Julio Tequila, Moet & Chandon, Brabus, Fakhoury Motors, Glitz Events, Smallville Hotel, Aleen Catering, Comin Insurance, ITP Live, Flow Beirut, Sola Catering, and many more.
The festival was broadcasted live on OSN Ya Hala, OSN First, Al Jadeed, Tele Liban, Al Kahera Wal Nas, Rotana, LBC, and X MENA.
