For the first time in a decade, the entire SNL cast including Aidy Bryant, Colin Jost, Michael Che, Kenan Thompson, Cecily Strong and more will return for the shows’ 46th season! The show will return to its Rockefeller Studio after quite a long gap due to COVID-19 pandemic which ultimately led to the shutdown of the production back in March.
According to SNL’s announcement made on September 16th, three featured players including Lauren Holt, Punkie Johnson and Andrew Dismukes will be added to the cast.
Moreover, a host as well as a musical guest who will perform for the premiere set on October, will be announced by SNL as they approach the airdate.
Due to the rise in coronavirus cases, the SNL comedians filmed the last few episodes in their own homes. However, production completely halted as cases got out of control which directed the comedians to keep the show moving on Zoom, which was definitely a first.

Living among the ongoing pandemic, SNL fans were pleased to know that their favorites were returning to the show. Since it’s election season, Maya Rudolph will most likely appear several times as Kamala Harris and of course, President Trump played by Alec Baldwin will also be a regular.Â
Keeping the ongoing pandemic in mind, the show intends to film in front of a smaller live audience and follow the necessary precautions. Many SNL cast members expressed how they missed the studio during the quarantine period. With the comeback of this fresh season, both fans and the cast are thrilled!
