The death of MF DOOM, also known as Daniel Dumile, was announced by his wife on Instagram on Thursday. While the rapper passed on October 31, his passing was not made public until last week.
His wife posted on his Instagram with the caption: “The greatest husband, father, teacher, student, business partner, lover and friend I could ever ask for,” Dumile’s wife, Jasmine, wrote. “Thank you for all the things you have shown, taught and given to me, our children and our family. Thank you for teaching me how to forgive beings and give another chance, not to be so quick to judge and write off.”
Originally born in London, Dumile was a massive force in Hip Hop. He rapper moved to Long Island, NY in 1971, where he started his career. He was known for his signature mask and his talent as a lyricist.
Many have expressed their sadness regarding Dumile’s passing. Rapper, Q-Tip, tweeted, “RIP to another Giant your favorite MC’s MC .. MF DOOM!! crushing news…,”
Later, his wife went on to state, “Thank you for showing how not to be afraid to love and be the best person I could ever be. My world will never be the same without you. Words will never express what you and Malachi mean to me, I love both and adore you always. May THE ALL continue to bless you, our family and the planet.”
