Taylor Swift has surprised fans with two albums in the past year. Album Folklore was shortly followed by surprise album Evermore. Swift’s fans had a theory that the singer was going to release another secret album, Woodvale.
The singer appeared on Jimmy Kimmel in December where she, unfortunately, debunked her fans’ theory. She singer stated:
“I tend to be sort of annoyingly secret agenty about dropping clues and hints and Easter eggs and it’s very annoying, but it’s fun for fans and it’s fun for me because they like to pick up on things,” she said. “And they’ll notice lots of things in music videos or photos or whatever and then sometimes I take it too far and I make a mistake.”
Swift explained that while making Folklore she was “too afraid to even unveil the title of the album to even my closest teammates and management.”
In summary, Swift used Woodvale to create a mock album cover to see what it would look like.
She went one to explain “I didn’t tell anybody the album title until right before it came out and so I came up with a fake code name that had the same amount of letters as ‘Folklore.'”
Sorry, Swifties! Guess we’re all going to have to enjoy the other two albums Taylor blessed us with this year.
