23-year-old actress Josephine Langford will be starring in a new movie on Netflix. The ‘After’ star will be joining Amy Poehler’s upcoming film called ‘Moxie.’ Langford joins a cast including Hadley Robinson, Lauren Tsai, Patrick Schwarzenegger, and Ike Barinholtz.
Based on a novel by Jennifer Mathieu, the film will tell the story of a young girl, inspired by the mother’s rebellious past, who starts a feminist riot at her high school. Poehler is directing the film through her Paper Kite Banner, which acquired the rights to the novel last year. Poehler previously directed the film ‘Wine Country.’ Screenwriting for the film will be by Tamara Chestna.
Langford recently started in the sequel to ‘After’ called ‘After We Collided.’ The actress, who is originally Australian, is the sister of Katherine Langford. Katherine starred in the first season of the Netflix drama, ‘13 Reasons Why.’
We are excited to see how ‘Moxie’ turns out!
