Mr Trump blocked Chrissy in 2017 following an almighty war of words where he described her as John’s ‘filthy mouthed wife’.
In another argument, Chrissy hit out: ‘lol what a p***y a*s bitch. tagged everyone but me. an honor, mister president.’
All it took was asking apparently, as Chrissy Teigen now has the surprise honor of being the only celebrity that President Joe Biden follows on Twitter’s @POTUS account.
Chrissy’s Shout Out To POTUS On Twitter
And while some questioned at that time if Biden (or rather, his team who runs the account) had better things to do on his Inauguration Day, Chrissy explained it was “just a dumb joke because I am a loser lol.”
In fact, she’s the only account he follows not already affiliated with the White House.
The official presidential Twitter account is only following 11 other accounts, including First Lady Jill Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff and a few other White House official.
Rob Flaherty, the White House director of digital strategy, addressed the addition on Twitter Wednesday, tweetinga “how it started/how its going” meme with a screenshot of Teigen’s earlier tweet that read, “hello @joebiden I have been blocked by the president for four years can I get a follow plz.” In the next screenshot, he showed Biden’s follower list, confirming the team had complied.
White House Director of Digital Strategy Tweet
After it was pointed out to her, Teigen understandably lost her mind.
“OH MY GOD !!!!!!!!!!” she wrote, before adding in another tweet, “my heart oh my god lmao I can finally see the president’s tweets and they probably won’t be unhinged.”
Overjoyed Chrissy’s Tweet
The cookbook author also reacted on Instagram, quoting the song “Feeling Good,” which her husband John Legend performed at Wednesday’s “Celebrating America” inauguration primetime TV special.
Chrissy’s IG Post
“It’s a new dawn it’s a new day, indeed!!!!!!!” Teigen captioned the post.
Biden has already struck a markedly different social media tone than his predecessor, who has been banned from the site permanently after Twitter expressed concern that his tweets could incite further violence in the wake of the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol.
Since Biden was sworn into office Wednesday, the only tweets on his @JoeBiden handle, which he used during the campaign, have been retweets of POTUS and one call to followers to join him on the official handle.
Biden’s POTUS Twitter Account
His use of POTUS means his tweets will carry the Twitter flag that notifies viewers it is a “US government account.” The flag doesn’t apply to personal accounts.
Teigen was one of a select group of celebrities who were able to attend the scaled-down inauguration celebrations in Washington, D.C., yesterday. She joined her husband, John Legend, with their two children, Luna and Miles Stephens, for Legend’s performance of “Feeling Good” in front of the Lincoln Memorial following the day’s ceremony.
Chrissy’s IG Post
“Just an incredibly special day,” wrote Teigen on Instagram alongside an image of her and Legend holding hands with their two children on their shoulders, all gazing at the Washington Monument.
In a second image, Teigen looks back at the camera with a cheeky smile, writing, “I must have been gooooood in a past life.”
Chrissy’s Second Insta Post
We cannot disagree with her caption can we? After all, It is a huge moment to be the first celeb to be followed by the newly appointed POTUS.
