Since posting his first TikTok video in January 2020, Beck has amassed tens of millions of followers on his social media platforms. Sometimes he dances; other times he comes up with skits that use viral “sounds,” which are audio selections from songs, movies, TV shows or other TikTok videos.
“I would see these trends pop up on my (TikTok) For You page, and I was like, ‘I can do that,’” Beck said. “I eventually made the decision to drop out (of college) and pursue TikTok in L.A.”
He had a full-ride scholarship to the University of Portland and played in the pro feeder academy at Real Salt Lake.
During quarantine Beck downloaded TikTok and within a month he started to go viral.
“It’s crazy because obviously I had to learn and adapt very quickly with how fast I grew online. I’ve learned the great things about social media, and I’ve learned the not-so-great things about it,” Beck said. “I’ve had days where I’ve been at my high, and it feels amazing with what I’m doing, and I’ve had days where I’m like, ‘Is this really for me?’ I’ve had days where I’ve been super low.”
Since his move to Los Angeles, according to social media monitoring platform CrowdTangle, Beck has 24 million followers on TikTok, 7.4 million followers on Instagram and 1.2 million followers on YouTube.
“People always think — and I’m using quotes — the ‘fame’ is all glitz and glam, but it’s a lot, and it’s very overwhelming at times,” Beck said. “You definitely have to develop a thick skin in this business, or you just try not to look at it all. And that’s what I’ve tried to do, but I try to engage my following as much as I can and I try to respond to comments.”
The Tik- Tok star is set to star in his own reality show, Noah Beck Tries Things. The series will follow Beck as he ventures into new experiences and navigates his life as a creator in Los Angeles.
“I’m super excited,” Beck, 19, tells PEOPLE of the six-episode series, which premieres on AwesomenessTV’s digital platforms on Friday. “My friends take me through a little bootcamp of what they’re good at, and then they grade me at the end. You’ll realize that I need to work on some things, but it was really fun.”

“You’re going to see me rap a little. You’re going to see me cook,” he says. “You’re going to see me try putting makeup on one of the biggest makeup gurus in the world — so that one should be quite a show.”
“Then, you’re going to see me try to be the best boyfriend I can,” Beck teases, referring to his relationship with D’Amelio.
Beck says he’s excited for his fans to see a new side of himself on the show, especially when it comes to his relationship with D’Amelio.
Since confirming their relationship in October, the TikTok stars haven’t been shy about sharing their budding romance with their followers, regularly posting PDA-packed photos and videos together.
“The amount of times we’ve gotten like, ‘Oh, this is just a publicity thing,’ ” Beck tells PEOPLE. “But Dixie and I love each other. We’re just like any other normal teenage couple. Yes, we have a huge spotlight on us, and it gets overwhelming — like these constant comments. But other than that, we’re just two teenagers in love with each other and couldn’t be happier.”

And dating one of the most influential faces on TikTok also means spending plenty of quality time with their immediate family. For Beck, that includes Dixie’s younger sister Charli — who is currently the most popular user on TikTok with over 100 million followers — and her parents Heidi and Marc D’Amelio.
But Beck says he’s still learning to navigate living his life in the public eye and tries not to let negative comments get him down.
Across six episodes, Beck’s newfound influencer friends help him learn about making diss tracks, DIY crafts and more. He enlists the help of some special guests, including Dixie D’Amelio, one of TikTok’s most-followed creators.

“I want to become an actor, and I want to eventually be in movies; I want to be a movie star, that whole thing. Obviously, I know there are steps to it, and it can’t happen overnight,” he said. “I’m in acting classes right now, and I’m doing everything in my power to get better at the craft.”

He “potentially” could co-star in a show on another streaming service this year.
He could not confirm whether fans would see him on “The D’Amelio Show” on Hulu, which stars girlfriend Dixie D’Amelio.
“Potentially. I’ll leave it at that,” he said. “It’s kind of up in the air right now.”
The 19-year-old Beck has faced a backlash from fans after it came to light that he traveled to Nassau in the Bahamas for a vacation in December — with Charli and Dixie D’Amelio, among others — despite recommendations to forgo travel during COVID-19. Beck, in an interview with YouTube channel Pap Galore last week, defended the trip, saying, “I think, especially the business we’re in, it’s, like, you need some time to kind of disconnect for a little. That’s what that was meant for. It was just a little trip to get away.”
