Makeup Influencer Christen Dominique launches a new Blur & Moisture Primer and Hydrating Fine Mist – the latest addition to her makeup line Dominique Cosmetics. Dominique announced the news last week via the Dominique Cosmetics Instagram:
Dominique started her career as a freelance makeup artist and eventually started her own YouTube channel to share her work. With the help of her growing fanbase – which currently stands at 4.2 million YouTube subscribers and 1.4 million Instagram followers – she created her own beauty brand Dominique Cosmetics and successfully launched her first product – the Latte Palette – which focused on compatibility across all skin tones.
In an interview with Makeup.com, Dominique shared her inspiration for coming up with her own brand:
“When I started as a freelance artist, I found myself constantly customizing everything, like my eyeshadow palettes. I knew I wanted to launch a brand by creating something that was multi-use for face and eye at an affordable price point with a luxe feel. I know how it is starting out as a young artist and not wanting to let go of the quality but also not being able to afford the quantity. It’s been fun along the way. I have made some great relationships with my labs and vendors, and I have learned a lot from developing and creating the brand. I think the most important part is having a strong team with you who is as passionate as you are. I am lucky enough to have that”.
It is clear that Dominique’s experience as an up-and-coming freelance makeup artist influenced her decision to make her brand affordable but luxurious – which will attract a wider-range of customers.
