Facebook is currently beta testing a new ‘Green Screen’ feature for Facebook Stories. The Green Screen will help Facebook users add photos, videos and image templates as a story background, with users able to record themselves over it.Â
The feature was brought to public attention by social media enthusiast Mamun Billah on Twitter – who shared that the new Green Screen feature was available under the Facebook Stories editing tools. Matt Navarra – a social media consultant – also shared screenshots of the feature to his huge following base:

The feature is very similar to the TikTok green screen – which has become a massive hit amongst the TikTok community. In the past, Facebook has enabled the green screen feature as a filter on Instagram stories and is now looking to push it to its own platform as well.
With over 2.8 billion monthly users on Facebook, the new Green Screen feature will surely experience widespread engagement on the platform: Facebook content creators and influencers alike will be able to use the new tool to get more creative and innovative with their content.
Facebook has yet to make an announcement on when the Green Screen will officially go live. However – with the beta-launch already receiving widespread recognition and praise – the announcement is expected to come soon.
