YouTubers Rhett James McLaughlin and Charles Lincoln “Link” Neal III are set to premiere their first scripted podcast “Ronstadt”. The supernatural noir comedy podcast will be co-produced by the duo in collaboration with the podcast studio QCode and its Wood Elf label.
The Ronstadt series will comprise nine episodes that will feature the main character Ronstadt (played by Rhett) who answers “weird” calls at the 911 call center in L.A.’s Koreatown and ensures Angeleno civilians are safe from the supernatural world, Side B. Link will feature in multiple roles throughout the series, which include his character “Kneeslapper.”
In a statement, Rhett and Link shared their excitement over the new venture and thanked the series creators and fans for the opportunity:
“When QCode invited us to be a part of ‘Ronstadt,’ we jumped at the chance to get our feet (or technically, our ears) wet in the scripted podcast world. We loved the freaky and funny world the creators, Jonny Strailey and Brando Bestenheider, had built and felt it was a perfect fit for Mythical’s first foray into this medium. We’re excited to take our fans along for this wild auditory ride.”
In 2006, Rhett and Link created their YouTube channel as part of their online comedy studio Mythical Entertainment. Their popular YouTube series Good Mythical Morning soon became an instant hit among viewers with star guests that include: Linkin Park, Daniel Radcliffe, Zach King, Megan Fox, Nick Cannon, PewDiePie and Post Malone. Their channels currently have an overall viewership of 75 million subscribers and have worked with brands such as Amazon Echo, Google, Gillette and Wendy’s.
The initial two episodes for Ronstadt are scheduled on June 1 across Apple Podcasts, Spotify and other major Podcast platforms.
