On May 20, TikTok introduced new initiatives aimed at combating online bullying on its platform. The new initiatives will help TikTok creators bulk delete hate comments and block troll accounts.
Joshua Goodman – the Director of Product, Trust and Safety at TikTok – shared that the new initiatives aim to protect creators and to help build a positive community:
“We’re launching a new way for creators to more easily manage interactions with their content. People put their hearts and souls into creating and entertaining on TikTok, and we recognize how discouraging it can feel to receive unkind comments on videos…We hope this update helps creators feel more empowered over their experience on TikTok”.
We're introducing the ability to delete multiple comments at once or report them for potentially violating our Community Guidelines. We hope this update helps creators feel more empowered over their experience on TikTok and fosters a welcoming environment! https://t.co/lxVrrZLXLp

The new anti-bullying features are currently only being launched in select regions. However, they will be extended to other countries shortly.
To select multiple comments or accounts at once, follow the steps below:
- Long-press on the comment you wish to delete/ tap on the pencil icon at the top left corner to open multiple options
- Select the comments or accounts that you would like to bulk delete or report. You can select up to 100 comments or accounts.
This isn’t the first time TikTok has stood up against bullying. In the past, TikTok introduced a
bullying prevention guide that provided families with educational resources on how to combat bullying – such as filtering comments, removing followers, and identifying bullies before they attack. Moreover, TikTok assigned additional guidelines and restrictions to TikTok users in the 13-17 age group in order to protect underage users from potentially harmful content online.
